Excellent ratings by James Suckling

Famous American critic James Suckling recently published excellent scores for Vivaldi wines in his tasting report.
Great awards for Amarone, Ripasso and Appassimento.

Here are James Suckling's scores and tasting notes:

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico docg
93 points

A ripe, flavorful red with dried- berry, raspberry and dark- chocolate aromas and flavors. Medium to full body. Flavorful finish. Drink or hold.

Valpolicella Ripasso doc
91 points

Dried berries, walnuts, red licorice and lightly burnt-earth character are the calling cards here. Round and fruit-forward, but with a solid backbone of acidity and medium chewy tannins to pull this together. Drink now.

Igt Appassimento
91 points

Lots of dried elderberries, blackberries, light sultanas and spices come to the fore of this appassimento wine, made from grapes dried after harvest. There’s some serious acidity to counterbalance the lavish tapestry of exuberant blue fruit, and the firm tannins also help to draw all the components into a colorful yet organized picture. Perception of sweetness on the finish. Drink now.
